We are a group of masters students, academicsĀ and experienced professionals working towards a sustainable future. To do this we have developed a way of working together to produce reports, papers and background information that we hope will inform, supportĀ and inspire other New Zealanders.
We are primarily engaged in a three year research project called Project 2058. The strategic aim of this project is to promote integrated long-term thinking, leadership and capacity-building so that New Zealand can effectively explore and manage risks and opportunities over the next 50 years.
For more information on Project 2058 and Sustainable Future, please visit our website.

I have come across your site via Landcare Research and my BSCW at Otago. Being an elder student, the search for meaning is now more at the forefront of WTF is really going on. I live in the country (mainland) and am witnessing the creation of yet another dairy conversion happening right in front of me, no regard for anything, just do it, money no object, somehow I have just worked out some connections, inspired years ago by “After The Warming”, (1989) Film Australia, featuring James Burke, and coming across Landcare Research’s game of NZ scenarios, the similarities struck me, your site has revealed there are more out there, can I join in? what can I do to assist? my skills to date are multi, but primarily as a commercial photographer, trying to exist in rural nz as the ex partner of the local GP –fun trying, but I want something for my kids as well, and the future looks pretty scary to me. Be pleased to hear from you. Peter
